Special Equipment

Only special equipment exclusive to mabi.pro or have received exclusive modifications are mentioned in this section. They tend to be gachapon drops and are likely seasonal items. If anyone could lend me these items for testing purposes I would appreciate it. Contact Ausar on Discord or in game.

Royal Pumpkin Rapier

Currently the only available rapier, on mabi.pro this weapon (and all other rapiers, judging by the database) has upgrades enabled and is also compatible with special upgrades as well. This weapon receives melee weapon upgrades, mana reduction, magic attack and even chaincasting upgrades (only +1 to one of the three bolts), making this weapon into a literal spellsword and therefore very good for warriors that make heavy use of bolts.

Very hybrid friendly, and not a bad weapon by any means.

Being classified as a two-hand weapon, it gains the more powerful version of special upgrades and can use the stronger two-handed enchants (not sure if enchantable, needs confirmation). Blue upgrades are confirmed to add magic attack on rapiers, but they gain less min/max as a result.

Rapiers get their own weapon class now. Neat, huh?

Access to +1 chaincast opens up a lot of possibilities. 2-charge icebolt turns it from a simple combo extender to a defense breaker, 2-charge lightningbolt acts as a simple crowd-control spell (but won’t be good as a combo extender for 1v1 anymore since it would force a pushback), and 2-charge firebolt makes it the strongest bolt with one cast (without a wand, anyways) and can quickly gather up 5 charges for a bit of magical damage.

My verdict: It’s a good weapon, if you like to play spellsword, then by all means, use this.

Spear of Ice

This is a staff that also doubles as a blunt weapon, clocking in at 60 max damage before upgrades. It comes enchanted with ice element and can only charge up icebolt and use Ice Spear (no access to the other two). It uses blacksmith repairs and is upgradable (no word on whether it’s special upgradable or enchantable). This weapon doesn’t get magic attack upgrades, it gets melee weapon upgrades instead. It qualifies as a hybrid weapon, but unfortunately I don’t think Ice Spear is a very hybrid friendly spell, and being the weakest of the 3 int magics it really needs all the magic attack boosts you can get. However, it has a very specific niche of being the only two-handed blunt weapon accessible to humans and elves, meaning it gets the 30 damage power up from Blunt Mastery as well as its master title (yes, 10 max damage is weaker than a 30 str title which is worth 12 max, but it comes without any significant stat penalties which more than makes up for it, in my opinion). Since it counts as a two-handed blunt, giants should still be able to use Full Swing with it. I don’t see why you would use this, though.

The upgrades on this weapon are very odd, to say the least. There are multiple upgrades that add and subtract durability, and if you do not plan ahead you might accidentally break this weapon (literally) from choosing your upgrades poorly. Unfortunately, this also means the strongest damage path is closed off to you since this weapon literally does not have enough durability to support those upgrades.

Humans are much better off swinging their two-handed swords, but elves may be able to pull off a convincing warrior build with this since the only other choices they have are Brionac (which uses precious AP to repair, and is a sword) and the Soluna Blade (?!).

My verdict: This weapon sucks, unless you are a warrior elf (oh the irony). Makes a good fashion statement, though.

Frostbite Cylinder

This is a water cylinder reskin except it has a Crown Ice Wand jammed into it. It is a slightly better water cylinder, having +18% to water and -6% to the others (vs +5% water and -5% others on a regular water cylinder). I don’t really have much to say about it, you can easily get a normal water cylinder from an NPC or just get a Tidal Wave Cylinder.

My verdict: Don’t waste your money buying this, but at the same time there’s no reason to not use this if you do get one from the gacha. A serious alchemist would still use a Tidal Wave Cylinder regardless.
